Jennifear On the Turn

We started with 36 this week. And by the time I was able to join the railbirds we were down to 21. That was just one hour and fifteen minutes into the Holdem Affair.

Jennifear was holding court on table 4 with Rankdizzle and phipsi04 in close pursuit.

We are down to 2 tables now. Jenn is still presiding over table 4 and lets see who is at table 1. Looks like Annieboom has a slight lead over big lar8 and some others. This table is pretty evenly matched.

HappyHeadedMo is playing on table1. I like that name. If that isn’t a parody of the Imus debacle, it should be. BTW, Mo is leading at that table right now.

Thunder knocked out Burldog on table 4 and now we have a new Holdem Affair leader at the 1 hour 30 minute mark. We are down to 16.

We are now down to 12 and Rankdizzle is in the lead. Time to set the final table. It’s bubble time.

Annieboom is getting short here – she has to do something this orbit. Here come the blinds and she didn’t move. Horrible cards – she says. 935 and posting a 300 big blind. She caught the free ride. All-in from the small blind with A9 but msrinny had pocket jacks. Msrinny rivered her set and Annie is gone.

Now it is Michele1024 with just 155. She has to do something in the next 3 hands. Here she goes. 2 callers in the blinds. QTo isn’t good enough and we have our final table.

Here is your leader board:
Jennifear = 14680
Rankdizzle = 9595
HappyHeadedMo = 5965
Thunder3 = 5925
Big lar8 = 4765
Msrinny02 = 4195
Phipsi04 = 3970
BareAce = 2690
PerfectsGirl = 1450
Marti = 765

Jennifear is our leader. That always makes for a scary table when you occupy another seat. But it’s fun when you are on the rail, looking on, as I am right now.

Marti picked up a nice pot in the first orbit and it looks like PerfectsGirl and BareAce are the shorties now. The blinds are 150/300 and they have about 1500. The blinds have gone through them both and now they have about 1100 – they have to move soon. Who is going to go first? There goes BareAce with AJs and he is called by Jennifear with a weaker ace. The Jack takes the pot and BareAce has a bit of breathing room.

Ouch, Thunder just pushed a packet pair into phipsi who paired his ace. Thunder now has just 280. The antes have kicked in and the orbits are no longer free.

Thunder is UTG +1 and all-in with 99 but PG flopped a flush and knocked him out. Not enough chips for PG to really get healthy though.

Marti just knocked out PerfectsGirl when her AT hit the straight and busted PG’s big slick. Evil Marti is at the table tonight.

Marti just took a 3750 pot from Rankdizzle as an encore.

Its break time and we are down to eight. Jennifear is still in command but phipsi is a close second. BareAce now has only 1005 and will come back to be in the cut off. When we come back the antes will be 50 and the blinds 200/400.

BareAce is all-in and Marti called with AKo. A9 for BareAce wasn’t good enough and we are down to seven.

HappyHeadedMo is our shorty now with only 2850, OTB. Whoa, a blind steal and then a push and Mo knocks out Big Lar8 to take us down to six. Paying five tonight and we have the money table bubble.

Msrinny is shortest now but has 4390. Not desperate quite yet.
Jennifear just pushed her 44 too hard and ran into Rankdizzle with pocket rockets. Oops.

Phipsi raised and Marti re-raised. All-in preflop. QQ vs. JJ and the jack hit the set. Marti is gone. Wow. Phipsi04 is now our leader.

Jennifear just took out Mo when she turned two pair. We are down to four and Jennifear has a stack.

Msrinny just pushed into Jennifear and Jenn turned two pair again. And then there were three.

Phipsi has re-raised Jenn off a couple of pots now. This could get interesting.

Several hands of steals now. Just swapping the blinds for awhile.

We saw a flop and Rankdizzle missed his flush draw against Jennifear and the turned pair of aces. Its heads up time. Jenn with 38000 chips and phipsi with 15000.

A dozen hands and no gains made either way. This could be a battle.

Phipsi is gaining ground. Well, not for long. Jenn is taking it back.

This is a war. Oooooooooo. Phipsi just took a nice pot and the lead.

Phipsi has turned the tables. OMG, Phipsi called Jenn’s all-in with a set of Jacks and Jenn rivered a straight. The tide has turned again.

Jennifear is our winner. Phipsi had to push and Jenn hit her deuce for the pair.

Great game to all. I hope I will be able to play next week.

Peace

DriveULoonie Took Us for a Ride

Thirty-six sat down this week to go after the Holdem Affair crown. Marti pulled out the bazookas to entice the masses this week.

I’m experimenting with a new writing style for these events. I’m writing the final table as it happens. I hope I will be able to catch some more of the feel of the event this way.

As I pick up the action we are down to 13, one hour and 50 minutes into the event. Hazy Cat appears to be dominating the action at his table but he has some tough competition still to face. Kate Starbird, SusieQue, Luckie in Luv, xgames4me and thunder3 are all wanting to take him down a peg or two. And – wow- it just happened. Xgames just busted Hazy Cat when Hazy hit a flush and xgames a full house. Wow, as I was setting up to write Hazy had been rolling over everyone and now he is out. Down to 12 already.

The other table just busted two and we are down to our 10. I’m not even sure what happened. One hour and 56 minutes into the Holdem Affair. Here is your final table:
Thunder3 = 10750
Xgames4me = 7970
DriveULoonie = 6580
Burldog44 = 4965
Kate Starbird = 4940
Gjones = 4475
VictorDave = 4165
Nutty = 3685
SusieQue = 3650
Luckie In Luv = 2820

The antes are 25 and the blinds 150/300. Luckie in Luv is our shortest stack with 2795. Looks like we have room for some action.

Hand 4 and Luckie just pulled down a nice pot to get out of the pressure cooker. Now Victor Dave is short with 2415.

Oh my, xgames just pushed his pocket 8s against thunder with Jto. A jack on the flop and we are down to nine.

By hand 10 Luckie has climbed into third place.
Hand 13 – nutty is all-in with AK of hearts and that darn thunder3 has pocket rockets. We are now dealing to eight. And Thunder3 is running over this table.

Hand 15 and Victor Dave pushes to steal the blinds. He tried it again and Kate called. A Qs vs. Kate with pocket tens. Wow, two hearts on the flop and the ten of hearts came on the river but that also gave Kate the full house. Kate Starbird now has some chips and we are down to seven as we go to the second hour break.

As we come back from the break, Thunder is in great shape with 22705. Kate Starbird is in 2nd with 8455. SusieQue is now our short stack with 2300. The antes are 50 and the blinds 200/400.

The blinds have gone through Susie and she is down to 1350. She will have to move this orbit. Kate opened for 1100 and Susie just pushed her last 1200. AJ for Kate and A8 for Susie. The table showed two eights and SusieQue doubled up.

Hand 30 and Susie just talked Burldog out of a 4650 pot to get very healthy. And the very next hand she doubled up again off Kate when Kate pushed big slick into Susie’s pocket rockets. Susie now has 15400 chips and a solid 2nd place. Kate is down to 940 and all-in. gjones called with 5 2o and hit two deuces on the flop. Kate is done for the night.

Bubble time. We are down to six and paying five. Burldog is all-in with QJ o vs. thunder with K Qo. Burldog is gone and we have our money table.

Thunder is still in the lead but SusieQue is a solid second. We are just swapping chips right now.

Hand 45 and gjones pushes – no callers. The blinds are now 300/600 and antes 75. Hand 48, gjones opened and DriveULoonie pushed over the top. A Jo to KQ clubs for Loonie and the board shows four clubs to double up DriveULoonie and bust gjones.

Hand 59 and Luckie pushes TT to A4 for Loonie. The flop brings an ace and Luckie In Luv is done for the night.

Thunder has 31K in chips, DriveULoonie has 11K and SusieQue has 10K. Hand 67 and Susie pushed AQ and was called by thunder with AT. The queen held up.

Hand 69 - Loonie just pushed A4 into thunder with AK. The four paired on the river and Loonie is in the chip lead. Thunder has gotten very unlucky here the last few hands.

Steals and jockeying the next dozen hands and Susie got the best of it. She is now in the lead. Hand 93 and we finally saw a showdown.

Hand 95 and thunder pushes deuces against Loonie with A8. The eight paired and Thunder is gone.

Heads up and DriveULoonie has the lead.
Hand 110 and we have some action. The flop came Ts 2c Td. Loonie bet 800, Susie raised to 3100 and Loonie re=raised to 5400. Susie thought about it and made the call. The turn was the 4c. Loonie bet 16200 and SusieQue pushed the rest of her 5350 chips to make the call. The river was the 4d. Susie had pushed one card too late with Kc Qs. DriveULoonie held 7c 4s and had spiked a pair and rivered the full house.

DriveULoonie is our new Holdem Affair champion.

Great game Loonie and also SusieQue.

What a pleasure to watch this final table. I will probably miss next week’s game as well. My Cedar Rapids Roughriders, USHL hockey team, will be playing in the post season tournament next Saturday night. We lost tonight and it cost us the regular season cup. We have got to go on to win the Clark Cup. But don’t worry, I’ll be on the rail for the final table and bring you all the story.

Peace.

Coachstove Rolled

Forty-one sharks sat down tonight to contest the Holdem Affair. I’m sorry I wasn’t able to defend my title tonight but I got back in time to catch the final table. Coachstove was the story of the final table tonight. It was good to see my old friend, Jewelcard, back in action. Good showing to you Jewelcard for making the final table. And a newcomer in Blue eye-s? I don’t remember seeing you at the tables before. Excellent showing finishing seventh.

Since the latest upgrade to UB no longer works with my hand grabber I am left to write this as it happens. It’s a little bit choppy but maybe a better piece for the change.

Von ebb was our leader going into the final table. Corn grinder and slick63 right behind. Here is your leaderboard.
Von ebb = 12480
Corn Grinder = 8295
Slick63 = 8230
Rshocker = 7800
Coachstove = 7115
Blue eye-s = 6300
Glenso = 3910
HooterHanna = 3430
Big Lar8 = 2175
Jewelcard = 1765

With the antes 25 and the blinds 150/300, Jewelcard and big lar8 were the short stacks. Big Lar8 went out on the tenth hand when he pushed AJs and was called by slick with A8. An eight on the flop spelled doom for Lar8.

Jewelcard was now the only short stack. Jewelcard pushed from the button on a 4KK flop and won a 2175 pot to get some breathing room, just before the second hour break.

The blinds are now 200/400. Glenso is all in and gets called by Corn Grinder with JJ. Oops, Glenso has played his pocket rockets very well and doubled up.

But the very next hand he hits a set of tens only to be beaten by Coachstove hitting a straight. Glenso is now in big trouble with only 1530 in chips. All-in on the next hand and Glenso takes the pot.

Coachstove has taken the lead from von ebb. Hanna and Jewelcard are the shorties now. That’s four blind steals now for Glenso and he is in good shape now with 6330 chips. Hooter pushed pocket deuces against Coachstove with AQ. Coach hit his queen on the flop and we are down to eight.

Jewelcard is all-in with A4s vs. Slick with pocket nines – The nines held up and Jewelcard is gone in 8th place.

Corn Grinder is the only short stack now. Coachstove is dominant with 19910 and slick63 is second with 10045. Oh my Blue Eye-s just ran into Glenso holding a pair of kings and is gone. Blue eye-s caught a full house, jacks full of sixes but those kings turned into a full house, kings full of jacks. What a way to go down.

We are down to six and it is bubble time. The blinds have gone through grinder and he has to make a move soon with only 1260. Corn grinder pushed pocket nines and was called by slick62 with A2. The board showed KQJT and slick had the better straight. Bummer Corn Grinder.

Von ebb is all-in and lost to coachstove who paired his jack. Down to four. Coach has 24215 and slick is on the other end with 9655. Is coach going to run away with this table? Let’s find out.

Slick just busted to coachstove. Pocket queens looked good against big slick until the ace fell on the river.

Coachstove now has twice as many chips as the other two combined. Rshocker is short now but so is Glenso. Both are trying to find their spot to double up. Rshocker pushed A6o and got called by coach with A J. Heads up action now.

53K to 10K – good luck Glen.

That’s it – Coachstove called an all-in with second pair to Glenso with top pair. But he paired his top card for the win.

Excellent game folks. This was a fun one to watch.

PEACE – and HAPPY EASTER.
